The Original Mighty Shirt Kings opened in 1988 at the Coliseum Mall on Jamaica Avenue, 165th Street, Queens, founded by King Phade, Mighty Nike, and Kasheme. From the beginning, we weren’t just selling T-shirts—we were building culture where style meets creativity. Every design was bold, transforming beloved cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and Snoopy into personal portraits that told a story.

By 1989, Tybo, Nunu, Derek, and Jeffstar joined, infusing fresh energy, while Izzy came later to complete the legendary lineup. Together, we became a hub for creativity and street influence, connecting Queens to the vibrant world of hip-hop and entertainment.

Over the years, we collaborated with some of hip-hop’s greatest icons, including LL Cool J, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, MC Light, Run-DMC, Jam Master Jay, EPMD, The Lost Boys, and 50 Cent—working on all of 50 Cent’s hats, jackets, and tattoos, except for the one on his back. We also partnered with entertainment legends like The Cosby Show, leaving our mark across music, TV, and pop culture.

The Coliseum Mall was our stage, our playground, our proving ground—a place where ideas, art, music, and fashion collided. On January 31, 2026, the doors close. A building may be gone, but the energy, creativity, and legacy of the Original Mighty Shirt Kings live on.
